Happy New Year, sweet friends! I'm happy to be back for another year o' giving. The timing is perfect, as I needed a New Year's card to send out. I made Christmas cards but ran out before finishing my list, also running out of time.
Keeping with the same concept of my Christmas card, I went with a matchbook style design (fold the flap up and tuck the card's front in.
My mixed media paper is perforated, making it perfect for this, as it was an easy fold and i love the texture the tattered edge adds.
Inspired by New Year's fireworks, I splattered on some spray ink. To do this, simply unscrew the nozzle, hold it over your project, and lightly tap with your finger.
Wanting more "pattern," I turned to a date stamp and added the year.
Time for a sentiment. 2016 was rough. Here's to much joy, joy, joy down in your heart in 2017. <3
Nothing says joy like color, so I used my watercolor pencils to quickly color the sentiment in. It's as easy as roughly scribbling in the numbers and then blending those numbers with a watercolor brush.
On the inside, I added a pre-made envelope from 7gypsies, which I stitched in along the base of the fold. I stamped the year across as an added hello.
This gives the card a pocket, which is good for so many things. In my case, it will hold a tag for a note and a photo of our family.
Here's to much joy, joy, joy this year, beautiful reader.
Giveaway Time
I've been cleaning like a mad woman and have MUCH to give away. But I don't want to give only my older supplies. How does a brand new copy of the 2017 Creative Planner and coordinating stamp set from Scrapbook & Cards Today sound? I loved working with our team on this and think the outcome is terrfic. I hope you'll agree. I'll send it, the stamps, and many other treats off to one lucky hopper. Simply comment to win. I'll draw my name in a week.
Now, it's time to hop to it. There are many more blogs to visit, each with something SO creative to offer. What an outstanding group to be a part of. But, before I go...
A VERY special thanks to Latisha Yoast. She is the talent behind putting this mammoth effort together year after year. Not an easy task but such a nice way to welcome a year. Hooray for projects and free stuff!
Happy 2017!
Hey kid, hop and roll, hop on!
